Draw No Bet Meaning + [Examples]

If you bet on sports like ice hockey, football, handball, or others where a draw is possible, you've probably come across the term "Draw No Bet". But do you know what it means for your ticket, how it affects the odds, when you win and when you lose? If not, read our article carefully.

Eliminate the Draw Risk

Understanding the Draw No Bet (also referred to as DNB, or AH 0) is not complex. While in main match markets that can end in a draw, you find three options (1 – home win, 2 – away win, X or 0 – draw), with Draw No Bet, you're only betting on a home or away win. The draw is not taken into account; meaning if there's a draw, you neither win nor lose.

This betting option can be found at all bookmakers, and it's most commonly used in hockey and football matches where draws are relatively frequent. For some sports, it might be better to consider a different bet, like the Money Line.

People often confuse Draw No Bet with Double Chance (1X and X2). However, these are two completely different bets. With double chance, you get the multiplied win by the given odds even if the match ends in a draw. This doesn't apply to Draw No Bet. In the case of a draw, the event is evaluated at odds of 1 or VOID.

Practical Example

For illustration, we selected a match from the European Qualification between Ukraine and England. With Draw No Bet, you can bet on either the home or away team's victory. If the match ends in a draw, the bet will be settled at odds of 1, meaning a Straight Bet would refund your entire stake (ticket assessed as VOID or defect). If this option is included in Parlay bet, you don't lose, but the total odds are reduced by the DNB odds. If the match ends in your chosen team's defeat, you lose your stake.

Because draw no bet excludes the possibility of a draw, odds are understandably lower than main markets with a draw option. However, it also means a lower risk of losing your stake.

Incorporate Draw No Bet into Your Portfolio

The probability of a draw varies in every sport and match. Even if you have unwavering faith in your team, the risk of a draw always looms over the game. In many instances, draw no bet is the preferable choice. In case of a tie, it doesn't bring additional winnings, but you also don't lose your bet. Visit our Tipster Statistics section, peek into their history, and see how many include draw no bet in their tickets.

FAQ

1️⃣ What does draw no bet mean?

2️⃣ How do you win with Draw No Bet?

Draw no bet operates by removing the draw option from the bet. As a bettor, you can bet on either the home or away team to win. If your prediction comes true, you win. If the match results in a draw, your stake is returned as the outcome is neither a win nor a loss.

3️⃣ Is Draw No Bet advantageous?
